Erica Wood is the Juvenile Justice Community Engagement Coordinator. To assist in maintaining CCJJ’s status as a recipient of Federal Title II funding, Erica coordinates the State's efforts to address Racial and Ethnic Disparities (R/ED) within the Juvenile Justice system, including being the primary staff support to the R/ED Collaborative.
Erica comes to the CCJJ with over 20 years experience in education, nonprofits, and policy work. She began her career teaching in the public school system. From there, she sought out a variety of non-traditional educational spaces: public health education, English as a Second Language, High School Completion, and others. She’s worked with both youth and adults who have contact along multiple points in the Justice system. Most recently, she comes from the University of Utah working in Higher Education.
Erica grew up in Arizona and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Education at Northern Arizona University. She’s lived in Utah since 2005.
