Our analysis revisits the relationship between time served in prison and recidivism, examining how varying lengths of stay relate to three distinct recidivism outcomes. In this data tool we also present trends in average time served, risk level, and recidivism, providing insights to support balanced decisions that weigh public safety, accountability, and fiscal responsibility.
