Commission and Board Meeting information
The Utah Department of Criminal Justice (DOCJ) is a neutral office. We bring research, data, funding opportunities, and expert voices to decision-makers and the public. DOCJ maintains various groups, commissions, and meetings that are open to the public. Attending these is a way to learn about criminal and juvenile justice issues, policy, and laws impacting our state. The Chair of each meeting will open up time for public comments. This is a chance to share your insight regarding the issues discussed in the meeting. Some groups also hold legislative session meetings. Please see below for information on each meeting.

| Sentencing Commission | The Sentencing Commission advises the Legislature, the Governor, and the Judicial Council regarding sentencing and release policy for adults and juveniles who have committed crimes. | Juvenile Justice Oversight Committee (JJOC) | JJOC is statutorily responsible for gathering and analyzing data that measures the impact of the juvenile justice policy changes. | Domestic Violence Offender Taskforce (DVOT) | DVOT aims to provide guidance on behavior treatment and management for those charged with DV offenses. | DVOT’s public notice information | No |
| Indigent Defense Commission (IDC) | IDC aims to strengthen public defense services and improve access to quality representation throughout Utah in the areas of criminal, juvenile delinquency, child welfare (parental), and appellate defense. | IDC’s public notice information | No |
| Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission (JPEC) | JPEC evaluates the performance of Utah’s state judges and provides nonpartisan information to help voters make informed voting decisions. It also offers judges meaningful feedback to support their professional development. JPEC also allows public comments regarding judge performance through an online form. | Prosecutor Conduct Commission (PCC) | The PCC receives and investigates complaints of professional misconduct by a prosecuting attorney in an effort to improve criminal prosecution throughout the State. UBJJ awards this funding annually to programs for young people involved with the juvenile justice system or at-risk of involvement and their families.
