Elizabeth (Liz) Klc serves as the deputy commissioner of DOCJ, providing strategic leadership and executive oversight for the department’s legislative affairs, commissions, advisory boards, and committees. In this role, she works closely with local and national criminal justice partners to address shared challenges and advance system-wide solutions.

Liz earned her Master of Public Administration degree from Brigham Young University. She worked with the Utah Behavioral Healthcare Committee at the Utah Association of Counties, served as the director of the Utah Substance Use and Mental Health Advisory Council (USAAV+), and most recently was the director of criminal justice policy for CCJJ.

She loves to travel and enjoy the local cuisine, but as a native Utahn, she loves small town county fairs, snow skiing, and fry sauce.
