A Message from our Executive Director

Dear Fellow Stakeholders,

Looking back at 2023, I am proud to share we here at the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice have made great advancements in the areas of criminal and juvenile justice policies, services for victims of crime, data connections, innovative geospatial research, and ongoing statewide disbursement of federal and state grant funding for programming that is critical to supporting our justice system.

We recognize the importance of continuing collaborative efforts across the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government while elevating voices and perspectives of our community and system partners that work directly with individuals impacted by our criminal and juvenile justice system. As such, in 2023 we have created and began implementing our 2024-2027 Strategic Plan where we focus on goals and objectives that can help us achieve our mission and vision.

Moving into 2024, we are excited and committed to furthering the necessary work. I invite you to interact with this page to learn more about our 2023 highlights and the accomplishments of each division here at CCJJ.

Appointed nine judges in Fiscal Year 2023

Judicial nominating commissions help select candidates for judicial vacancies. There is a nominating commission for each judicial district, including the appellate courts. CCJJ staffs and manages the work of these independent commissions.
